Illinois law now helps people touched by adoption connect. If you are an adoptee looking for medical information or hoping for a reunion with your birth mother, or a birth parent trying to find your birth child who was adopted, the CI program can be a good option.

A trained, certified Confidential Intermediary appointed by the Court will have access to the sealed Illinois adoption records to locate the birth relative you are looking for. Confidential Intermediaries have a great success rate! During the past ten years, Illinois CIs located more than 90% of the relatives being sought.
